I’ve always been an unapologetic romantic at heart—drawn to the quiet, fleeting moments that say everything without a single word. A spark-filled glance across the room, a hand instinctively reaching for another, the emotion carried in a whispered “I do.” It’s in these in-between moments—the ones you don’t plan—that the real story lives.

Long before I ever picked up a camera professionally, I was captivated by two things: the pages of a beautifully written love story, and the idea that time—just for a moment—could stand still. Photography became the place where those two worlds met.

It’s that raw, undeniable connection between people that led me to step away from the expected path and into something far more meaningful. Now, I have the privilege of documenting love as it unfolds—honestly, artfully, and in a way that lasts far beyond the moment itself. And I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Over the years, my work has been featured internationally in more than 100 publications, and I’ve been honored as Best of Atlanta Wedding Photographer for four consecutive years. But the truest measure of this work isn’t found in accolades—it’s in the trust my couples place in me, and the stories I’m invited to preserve.

Beyond the work, life is beautifully full.

Our home is one of laughter, curiosity, and a touch of delightful chaos. My two children—Jacob and Michaela—are at the heart of it all, keeping life vibrant, grounded, and ever-evolving. We’re a family of storytellers, animal lovers, and unapologetic enthusiasts of the things we love.

And yes, that includes a small (and ever-growing) collection of vintage cameras—each one a quiet nod to the history of this craft and the stories it has held before mine.

As for our pets… let’s just say they run the house. From our two delightfully spirited pugs—each with names as grand as their personalities—to a quietly reigning circle of cats, they are as much a part of our story as anything else.

Because at the end of the day, it’s all connected—
the love, the chaos, the quiet moments in between.

I’m Tamela—though you may sometimes see the name Ella, a nickname my late husband once gave me, and one I’ve carried with quiet meaning ever since. I’m a mother, a writer, an artist at heart—and someone who finds beauty in both the ordinary and the in-between. A devoted fan of Diet Dr Pepper, and someone who still adds just a little too much creamer to her coffee.

I was born and raised in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia, where my love for storytelling first began. These days, I call the Chicago area home—just outside the city—where I’m building something new while staying deeply connected to the places and people who shaped me.

My work is rooted in capturing imagery that feels both timeless and alive—where light, color, and honest emotion come together in a way that feels effortless and true. I’m drawn to the unscripted moments, the quiet glances, the energy you can’t plan but never want to forget. Whether it’s a rooftop in downtown Chicago, beneath the mossy oaks of Georgia, or somewhere entirely your own—your story deserves to be told with intention.

As a partner and a mother of two spirited little ones, I understand how quickly life moves—how the days blur, and the moments you thought you’d remember begin to soften with time. It’s why I approach this work with such care. Not just to document how it looked, but how it felt. To preserve the seasons of your life in a way that remains meaningful long after the day has passed.

At home, life is filled with the things we love most.

We’re drawn to stories in all their forms—from the imaginative worlds of science fiction and fantasy to the quiet magic found in everyday moments. Whether it’s a favorite film, a shared series, or something entirely new, there’s always a sense of wonder woven into our days.

Our rhythm is a balance of connection and spontaneity—movie nights that turn into laughter-filled traditions, friendly competitions over games, slow evenings at home, and the occasional adventure that calls us outside. From coastal escapes to winding trails, we’re always seeking moments that invite us to pause, breathe, and take it all in.

Travel, too, holds a special place in our lives. From the vast stillness of the Grand Canyon to the cliffs of Big Sur, the quiet majesty of Yosemite, and the energy of cities like New York, each place becomes a chapter—another memory thoughtfully collected along the way.

And in the quieter in-between moments, you’ll often find me at home—curled beneath a soft blanket, a warm drink nearby, Charlie resting contentedly in my lap, or creating something small and beautiful with my hands. It’s in these spaces that I slow down, reflect, and find inspiration for the stories I tell.
